In the spirit of our presentation at SCAR 2006, I whooped up a quick application to track a PACS environment.

I coined it PACSTRAK for lack of a better term and it is designed to help you support your PACS in a RELATIONAL fashion…

What it can do:

  • provide a basic change management system
  • provides basic organizational storage for DICOM conformance statements
  • provides the ability to build simple IHE profiles
  • track preventative maintenance
  • track vendors
  • track support calls to vendors
  • provides a forum
  • provides visibility to RELATIONAL devices
  • search your PACS environment
  • Report on your PACS environment
  • Insert use here…

Though its primary purpose is to show an academic use for Ruby on Rails in our industry, I believe that it could actually help a PACS shop support their systems.

I will release the source and package the week of SCAR, right now I would like to ask you to test drive it and give me some feedback on this post. Good, Bad, and yes, its ugly! But maybe you can help?

Only 1472 Lines of Code!

Please give it a spin…

Introducing, PACSTRAK
