Another Quick Demonostration on an invaluable tool for using and implementing MIRC for use at your facility. The tool here is the MIRC Powerpoint Tool by Scott Keller. This utility takes a Powerpoint Presentation, converts all slides to a specified image format, harvests the text from the slides into a querable field, builds a MIRC Teaching File, includes the ppt document itself in the Teaching File, then, on top of all that, submits it to your Storage Service on MIRC ... without you ever having to leave your Powerpoint program.

Empowering your site users with this tool when launching a MIRC site is a great idea. It allows users to get some existing content they may have on the site without doing any heaving lifting during the learning phases of the Author Service or third party tools. It also helps your ego after implementing MIRC that you have “instant valuable content” on the site you just built.
