Microsoft has stepped up and already things have appeared to be looking up for a cross platform world.

Immediately following this press release , Novell and the Mono team released Mono 1.2 which had milestone achievements for supporting .NET 2.0 and greater enhancements for the Win Form API.

So what does this mean?

This will help developers that have resorted to GTK# in the past for interoperability between operating systems for GUI continuity. Now, we can leverage the win forms api for GUI Goodness. Projects such as Clear Canvas and openDICOM.NET come to mind immediately.
